If you truly did find this blog by Googling one of the terms above, you are in good company here. I have been in your shoes. I still find myself in those shoes all too often.
I am experiencing something (unfortunately) common as a new mom- a loss of myself and my time. This loss causes a deep struggle within me because I connected so much of my pre-baby identity to my “self-care”. Oh boy, do I struggle with this. Anxiety, stress, exhaustion, and general unhappiness plagued many of my early mom days and still visit here and there.
So I started to take small steps to regain me. To find my way back.
And then I started to talk about it with other moms and realized that I was attempting to do something unique. While my mom friends were experiencing the same loss of self and self-care, they could not see the solutions or strategies that I could see.
This blog is my place to share what I am learning about self-care and motherhood as I travel this wild and amazing path. I am by no means an expert in this area, just a regular mom trying to balance it all. My unique spin on the motherhood juggling act is that I am trying to include myself in those balls up in the air, not just my family, career, a vacuum, etc.
While anxiety, stress, and exhaustion still visit me more often that I would prefer, I am finding joy and relaxation everyday. And I’m very happy to report that my general unhappiness has subsided.
